Ben Johnson is the Executive Director of Drive Inc, a nonprofit teaching entrepreneurship and computer technology to young people in the Charlotte area. He has been involved in nonprofit sector for the past 15 years, serving people in need here in Charlotte throughout the United States and around the world.
Ben has also had an 11 year professional soccer career playing with the Charlotte Eagles Soccer Club. After retiring from soccer Ben and his family moved to Mexico to teach and train soccer coaches and leaders alongside of Sports Outreach Institute.
In 2013, Ben took the vision of Drive Inc. and helped launch the Drive Program to help inspire young people to see entrepreneurship and computer technology as great opportunities for success in their future.
Director of Philanthropy
Kim Curran is the Director of Philanthropy for Drive, Inc. – a not-for-profit organization providing target populations with technology and soft skills to make them employable now and successful in the years to come. In this role, she is responsible for all of Drive’s fundraising activities including corporate sponsorships, grants, and individual donations. She also manages Drive’s fundraising events, including the annual Celebrity Sports Auction.
Kim enjoyed a career in the financial services industry in New York City and was actively involved with the Starlight Children’s Foundation, eventually chairing their primary annual fundraiser. Subsequently, she was a member of the board of directors and managed special projects for Warrior’s Wish Foundation (fulfilling final wishes to terminally ill veterans). When that organization retrenched to its regional roots, Kim was a founder and Executive Director of Veterans’ Dream Foundation, which continued the mission on a national basis.
After moving to Charlotte, Kim found Drive and was energized by its mission. She has been working with Drive since 2014.
Sam Khashman founded Technology Partners, Inc. (dba ImagineSoftware) in 2000 and has an extensive background in systems integration, process efficiency, and imaging systems with more than 18 years of experience in executive leadership. He has spent his career implementing and developing national and international markets for various business software solutions, and is recognized in radiology for combining complex processes into single system solutions. Khashman is also involved in numerous civic organizations and currently serves on the board of the National Chamber Foundation, the public policy think tank of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington D.C. and the advisory board of InfraGard Nations Capital Members Alliance, Inc.
